BAWA Barks!™
Kittens on the Roof!
It was a usual Monday morning at BAWA office and everyone was busy on their desks (and Holly, Janice's oldest dog, was busy roaming between the desks trying to talk everyone into giving him an extra cookie!).
But we should have known better, there was never a usual morning at BAWA. Suddenly everyone heard a kitten meowing from somewhere in the office. It was not a mobile phone ringtone, and no one smuggled a kitten in their bags to the office. It was really a kitten in the building somewhere, we just couldn’t find it!
After a while, we worked out that the kitten was be trapped in a gap between the walls so we sent someone to check it. He came back empty handed because it was impossible to see into the pitch dark gap, not to mention to reach inside. The kitty kept meowing and there was no way any of us could get any work done knowing there was a poor animal suffering in our building. So we decided to try again, and this time going through some very narrow path, our guy finally managed to pick up the tiny kitty.
Janice than took it into her arms to warm it, while the staff were preparing the emergency formula to be fed to the kitten by a syringe. Maya, Janice’s dog that was around the office that day, looked so curious about this tiny little creature. It was a heartwarming scene to see how gentle Maya was with the kitten. The lucky little Kitty was fed and kept warm and then handed over to a vet who came to pick her up and take her to the clinic...
...As it happened, it was not the only kitten.
Today, we found (actually we heard) more kittens on the roof. The mama cat wasn’t there, so again, one of our security guards crawled through a narrow passage and managed to pick up one of the kittens. Whilst Janice brought the shivering kitten down to be fed and warmed, we saw another kitten hiding behind a closed gap, and it was impossible to reach. Our guy tried to make some noise from one end hoping that the kitten would move away from him and go out through the other end. It worked! We brought it down to be fed and warmed also, with Acorn jumping around being curious just like Maya did on Monday. He softly touched his nose to one the kitty’s face and the scene just melted our hearts. Later on, full and warm, our staff delivered the kittens to the clinic to join their other sibling. Let’s just hope there’s no more kittens left up there! and don't forget that you can always adopt these dogs and kittens, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
