Puppy Rescue & Rehabilitation

Because female dogs are costly to sterilize, they are often abandoned shortly after birth. Most of these puppies are hit by cars or slowly starve to death.

BAWA rescues puppies from the street and cares for them until they are old enough to be re-homed. Although we do not run a shelter, there are generally over 30 rescued puppies at the clinic awaiting adoption, straining BAWA's resources to the full. All receive food and free medical care, including a 3 year vaccine against parvo and distemper.

adoptionFinding safe, caring homes for these animals is one of our greatest challenges. Our vets check potential homes, educate the family, vaccinate and sterilize the dog without charge at the appropriate age and continue to monitor its wellbeing.
